I also replaced the toilet in our small cabin. The previous one was functional, but had miniature cracks in the porcelain and could sometimes be a finicky flusher. After our most recent guest let us know that they had a problem with the tank filling, we decided to take advantage of the current lull in reservations and replace the entire thing. The process went much more quickly than I expected (although removing the old wax ring is by far my least liked and longest part) and everything seems to be working just fine.
I still have a few small projects that have been on my list since the beginning of the summer. The one I've really been avoiding is replacing the section of drywall that the dogs have torn apart next to the main door. It involves using drywall, plaster, texturing, and paint; none of which are favorites. Some metal plates are also involved which will hopefully reduce future damage and make later repairs easier.
As most of my coursework is completed (I'm on the final week for this term), I suppose I should probably work on these final items before school starts up.
