The good news is that the "hole" is shrinking. Satellites that were launched in November have been reaching their positions as part of the 70 degree polar orbit group. There are even more that were launched in December and January that are making their way into their proper orbits. The word is that the "hole" (and some smaller "holes") should be completely filled by June with coverage only getting better between now and then.
Starlink has also reduced our monthly fee to $90 a month due to our living in a low demand area. This has us now paying $60 less a month for a service that (when there are no "holes") runs ten or more times faster than our last one. It's certainly not perfect, but I'm glad that I made the switch--despite all of the early hassles.
