In general, if you can read this post, you are invited to join for the entire marathon or just the show or two that you are most interested in seeing. There are unfortunately some exceptions to that offer. You know who you are and what you did. No matter how justified you believe you were, I believe it was a betrayal not only of friendship but of ideals that you should have held, and I do not want to spend a social gathering (especially one celebrating my arrival at the half-century mark) continually angry due to your presence. Also, vampires are explicitly not invited.
I have a few notes about this marathon with me and my family:
1. All of my children (including my-in-law), grandchildren, dogs, and cats will be here. Please do not let that intimidate you. We are generally a friendly and welcoming group.
2. We talk during movies and shows, even ones that we haven't seen before. We try to limit this while in movie theaters, but home viewings are fair game.
3. We shush each other often while watching movies and shows, and are completely unabashed about how hypocritical we are when we do so.
4. We watch movies and shows with subtitles. Considering the aforementioned talking, this allows those who can read the ability to still follow along.
5. We have noisy grandchildren who are not always interested in watching the movie, and your noisy children are also welcome. We do have other areas of the house where their noise is not as bothersome, and we do use subtitles (as mentioned in 4).
6. We have not yet fully tested the upper limits of our seating. The living room currently has three couches, a captain's chair, and plenty of more room for other chairs as needed.
7. We will be providing sandwich fixings and some snacks, but there will not be a set meal time, and you might want to bring your own preferred beverage.
8. The shows do not pause once they start with the exception of emergency situations (bathrooms breaks are not considered emergencies).
9. We have a LOT of fun! Well, at least, I do.
