By fathering Jesus, God did that for us. He made Himself bound by our limited view of eternity, making Himself available and understandable. This was no small feat. We have the Magi as witnesses that He literally moved the heavens to bring Himself into our world. In doing so, He showed us that God is within each of us--that how we treat one another is how we treat Him. He could have arrived in the grandeur that was expected of a Messiah, but instead He presented Himself through the most humble means.
The universe has a scale that continually defies the expectations of our greatest minds. It exists throughout all of time. There's no limit to its scale that we can discern. Still, the creator of something so immense made Himself knowable to us out of a love for us that is similarly beyond our understanding, and He did so for people across the world. For me, that's quite an Epiphany.
