Such is the nature of our relationships with God. He's always there, ready to help us make the most out of our lives and even beyond. We are the ones who hold back, who put up barriers, and who deny ourselves the true light and happiness that is offered to us by our creator.
Our church is also one of a number of shrines and churches that has been designated as a pilgrimage site for a Holy Door of Mercy. As this jubilee year has been designated as a year of mercy, people can receive special indulgences by taking a pilgrimage to a site that has such a doorway and then walking through it (after first going to confession and taking communion while meditating on the concept of mercy).
Just one more reason for those in the Lower 48 to come up and visit me this year ...
