Sometimes, I feel "put upon" in my life. I easily get roped into doing things which others are not willing to step up to do. It is easy to feel resentful for such burdens. However, Paul's second reading gives us the answer to this as well: we must approach our burdens willingly. In doing so, in choosing to take them on, we receive recompense in the place of bitterness.
This does not mean let people take advantage of our good nature. Rather, it means that we do what we can when we can with the satisfaction of doing it out of love. By drawing from the love of God--which is infinite--as our source of energy, we can accomplish anything.
