The Beatitudes made up today's Gospel. In the Old Testament, Moses went up a mountain alone and came back with the Commandments. Jesus goes up a mountain followed by a crowd. Instead of giving out the law, He passes out blessings. This, for me, is the primary difference between the Old and New Testaments.
