Jesus broke tradition by speaking with and healing the lepers who came to him. This was a serious challenge to the authority of those in charge. Yet Jesus did not wait for the bureaucracy of His religion to try and help people. He even asked those He healed to not reveal what had happened so that He would still be free to move around freely.
He must have known that they could not help but rejoice at the healing and freedom that He gave to them. Thus, Jesus finds Himself a bit of an outcast of society. He could not enter a town openly without people rushing Him for healing, or for the authorities to try and confront Him. Yet, He healed the sick anyway, despite the consequences.
He does the same for us.
