In his homily, our pastor reminded us that we worship a living God, one who is with us in the here and now. We are asked not to just wait for some future heaven, but to work towards making our present world a paradise. To do this we need to do is help one another, support one another, and love one another rather than focusing solely on ourselves.
These tasks align. To better unite, we must not allow ourselves to be isolated. While having time alone is often essential to our sanity, deliberately cutting ourselves off from others does not solve most of our problems. Let us work together and help make the world a better place for all of us.
