Some topics just feel too controversial at the moment, and I don't have the energy for the fight. On topic heavily on my brain is how absolutely off-the-wall the Supreme Court was in this last round. From saying that the federal government cannot protect citizens' rights that are not specifically listed in the Constitution and its Amendments, to gutting environmental protections (because they're not outlined in the Constitution), to even stating that evidence that proves a wrongly-convicted person's innocence cannot be admitted (because the process isn't defined in the Constitution) ... well, you get the idea. Following that topic is how isolated many of my conservative friends are because they have stopped following centrist news sources because they "are too liberal." It's no wonder they are so taken in by lies AND keep getting shocked when events take place that nearly everyone else knows about.
Some topics are just too banal. For example, I've spent the past week cleaning parts of the house that haven't been cleaned for some time. I've already written about some of them; I didn't feel like writing another one.
And some topics contain too much personal information. Yes. And that's all you're going to know about them.
There were others, but they didn't fit into neat categories, but I think this still manages to sum up many of my thoughts this evening.
