I'm a little concerned about being that high on the ladder because my fear was in high gear when I went up to take the reading; I'm not sure how well I will handle using the drill and attaching the actual mount. I could have Connor do it as I feel the ladder is more secure with the lighter person up the ladder and the heavier person holding it steady. Still, despite his assurances, I worry more with him up there--about both his safety and him doing the job correctly. I would prefer to take the risk and possible blame myself.
We will likely not make the attempt until after lunch. I need to do a dump run before then, and I think that we all plan on sleeping in. I certainly need to catch up a bit on my rest.
The unknown is Scarlet (my ATV). I did not get a call today, so I assume that they did not test her after welding shut her oil drain plug. I really hope that the simple fix is all that was necessary, as I would very much like to have her ready before the predicted snow arrives starting tomorrow evening. If I haven't heard from them by noon, I plan on calling to see if they can run her--with the added prayer being that everything works fine and I would be able to pick her up.
I'm planning to hold off on changing the thermostat tomorrow, even though I've had the part for a few days. The process requires shutting off the power to the boiler system, I would prefer to not do that when we are sitting so far below freezing. With that in mind, I might wait for the middle of the week.
Otherwise, I still have plenty of grading to get done as the end of the semester is nearly upon us. I'm not quite at the point that I would like to be, but I should be able to get there by the end of the weekend. That should prepare me for the deluge of work that students turn in at the very end of a term.
It's going to be a full Saturday.
