- Alaska (and any state) would be better off creating a graduated income tax rather than a sales tax. Better yet, Juneau needs to repeal SB 21 from 2013 which is what created the budget "crisis" in the first place. I'm not writing on this one because it requires more explanation than I feel like dealing with at the moment.
- So-called "parents' rights" should not supplant student rights, the First Amendment, or any citizen's rights to a full education. Again, this one requires more energy than I have at the moment. It's also closely tied to ...
- Children have a right to education that should not be denied, and parents who do so ARE abusive parents. I might be a little too riled up for this particular topic which is response to an Alaskan legislator who recently said that she does not understand why government forces education on children once they turn seven.
- Japan trip sign-up. We're going to be hearing enough about this over the next two years.
- Snow melt and the smell. This is one of the less enjoyable Alaskan experiences and really does not need any further description.
- Summer plans. I've got a couple of out-of-state trips coming up, but the details for one of them are not solidified just yet, so I should probably wait.
