With Katrina's wedding last month, and my brother's wedding next month, this has felt like a wedding summer. This is not a bad thing. I like the optimism, hope, and love that weddings represent. It is nice to see people in a joyful, celebratory mood.
I'm also deeply impressed by the amount of time and effort donated to transforming mundane spaces into festive locations. Both Katrina and Peter's reception hall and the reception hall for today's wedding were almost unrecognizable from their normal appearance. It's as though the wedding brings out the beauty that normally hides within.
