The new dishwasher is safely installed with no loss of life in the process. Despite a few frustrations, my use of shocking language was kept to only mild grumbles. None of my children had to hide from me or run from the room crying. Everything seems to be working fine.
I always worry a bit after installing a dishwasher because it's almost impossible to know if leaks develop. I have not noticed any odd sounds or puddles in our test runs, so I think we'll be fine. Still, this is one of those times that x-ray vision would come in handy.
Speaking of vision, my progressive lenses are a real pain when I'm trying to do close-up work at odd angles. I kept having to take my glasses off to line up (and sometimes even find) screws. Normally, my glasses don't bother me, but they were certainly causing more harm than good today.
I also set up our new tree. It looks nice, even if it's not what we're used to. It's lights are in various sized bulbs, and both bulbs and the tree are "frosted." It seems so fancy.
We have more decorating to do, but that's work that leads to smiling, not swearing.
