Thus, I have a more limited amount of time than I normally do. Considering church, the earliest I can start a marathon is noon (and that's pushing it). As such, I can't go for a longer stretch (such as ALL of the Star Wars movies or Marvel Phase 3--which isn't done yet anyway). I also have the requirements that it can't be rated beyond PG-13 which limits the options a bit (no Die Hard run).
This does leave me with a number of options. I did the original cast Star Trek last year and enjoy the reboot trilogy, so that's a top contender. Similarly, I could go for the four Next Generation movies, but Nemesis is such a poor show to end on. The first three Bourne movies are also quite a bit of fun (I try to ignore the existence of the last two). The 2001 Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels are also enjoyable (although I'm not sure about watching three heist movies in a row). The Indiana Jones movies would be more of an option if the even movies didn't bother me so much. The Nolan Batman, Toy Story, or Back to the Future trilogies could all be good picks, but I watched all of them this summer with the boys. I could also do a small-run Star Wars with Solo, Rogue One, and the original.
Another idea is that I don't pick a series at all, but choose from a number of movies that I could watch again and again but aren't really part of a larger franchise (The Fifth Element, Stardust, Apollo 13, Galaxy Quest, The Truman Show, Ready Player One, and others I haven't thought of).
I have over a month to figure it out, but I think that I usually have a more solid idea by now. What are your thoughts?
