I held three TV marathons on the more recent Star Wats shows.
Starbuck became an escape artist, but I believe that I have foiled her with a buried log.
The younger boys and I set up our mini-pagoda. I’ve enjoyed sitting out in the pagoda and enjoying nature without getting eaten by it.
Tears of the Kingdom is a great game!
I did some closet cleaning and mild room organization. I also started cutting down trees again, overcoming the fear put into me by the close call this past winter.
I arrived in Michigan and got to spend time catching up with family friends before starting my conference on AP US History.
Speaking of that conference, here are some of my takeaways from the first day:
I have better grasp of the content than I thought, but there are some specific areas that I need to revisit.
There are many amazing resources (almost too many) now available to me due to this session.
I was surprised that the course structure was so much different than AP World considering that the their exam structures are identical.
It is important to get students to understand that the broad generalizations often used in history are part of infinitely more complex stories of real people who are more than the facade presented by a historical footnote.
I’m apparently strange enough that no one wanted to have lunch with me when I asked. I think my Applebee’s waitress felt a little sorry for me as I sat alone, eating my wonton tacos.
There’s more, but I’ve been up late having wonderful conversations with people I love. Speaking of, Alex met me at a KPOT restaurant, providing not only good company but a new experience for me. I may have overcooked some of the Korean BBQ I ordered.
