I also didn't get the chance to give my students my normal Fat Tuesday explanation as we are running a little bit late due to snow days and we have shortened hours on Tuesdays due to squeezing in our advisory class (like a homeroom). I tried fitting it in my fourth and sixth hour classes, but I didn't have my heart in it by then.
Wow. The tone of this blog so far has been a bit depressing, but I don't feel that way. Actually, I'm looking forward to the start of Lent this year. I plan on incorporating a nightly prayer into my daily routine, hopefully including my children if they are interested. While I occasionally say a nightly prayer for major requests, I haven't had it as a part of my day-to-day practice since I was quite young. I'm looking forward to starting it up again, and Lent is the perfect excuse to do so.
While I had religious-focused blogs last Lent, I plan on sticking to my current practice of writing those on Sundays and Feast Days (even Ash Wednesday tomorrow) for this Lent. I am actually a little back-logged on topics that I want to write about (I've even forgotten quite a few). I would prefer to not have that backlog grow.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed Fat Tuesday and took the time to enjoy the things that they enjoy.
