I am disturbed by the number of students who failed the quarter. I still feel that I offer entirely too many points while requiring less work than when I taught my history classes in Michigan. Yet, I have been hearing a continual refrain of how hard my class is. This has been putting me in a state of frustrated confusion. How do I maintain rigor while still giving multiple paths and opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning?
Apparently, this is not the moment where I have an epiphany, so I think I'll head to bed.
