Today also was graduation. The event was wonderful with tremendously humorous speeches from our valedictorians, Ivy Daly and Ali Powell, and the keynote speaker, my colleague Darren Zibell. The weather also cooperated--for the most part. Even though I was perfectly comfortable (perhaps a bit too warm) under the beautiful blue skies, the occasional wind gust did seem to cause some difficulty for those who were speaking or singing. I was, of course, dressed in my doctoral robes for their first public appearance. Sadly, no one asked to take a picture with me.
Tomorrow will be strange without students filling the school. I still can't quite believe that the school year is over. Perhaps it will feel more real tomorrow.
