It's that time of year again. In many ways, receiving the tax return is almost like Christmas. Granted a good portion of it usually goes to paying off Christmas, but still the sudden increase in savings is nice. This is despite trying to work out my work deductions so that my returns aren't all that big as we usually need the money more on a week-to-week basis.
Actually, considering that all of our Christmas money has gone to bills these past couple of years, our recent tax returns have sort of been like our Christmas. This year, we have to put aside most of it for taxes and as a little bit of a reserve. Janelle has a list of things that she would like to get for her art and I need to get an orthopedic seat cushion to help with my tail bone (such a pain in the ...). I also plan to get the new Starcraft expansion when it comes out.
It's amazing how fast what seems like a minor fortune can disappear.
