I'm glad that I finally got around to watching these movies. While they do not come anywhere close to the greatness of the first two (the first for its story, the second for--well--everything), they were still entertaining takes on the Terminator story. Neither movie held the same level of tension as the original; although Genisys (I hate that spelling) did a fantastic homage to the original movies--only to ruin it when the "surprise" villain was revealed. I did not care for either of these movies' endings, but I especially disliked the hopeless end to Rise of the Machines. Still, they weren't terrible; they just had too much to live up to.
Watching them did put me in the mood to see the other two movies that I missed, or even to watch the second season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles (even though I know it ends in an unresolved cliffhanger). Perhaps if I find Salvation or Dark Fate on discount, I might pick them up. For now, I think I am more interested in watching the original two movies again.
