Although I certainly won't complain about the wonderful weather that we've been having, there is no doubt that we need some rain to help lower the fire danger. At this point, we are under a burn suspension for everything short of a small campfire. Meanwhile, it's clear that the trees, brush, and grass are all desperately thirsty.
The good news is that rain is in the forecast for the next couple of days. With that in mind, I completed one of my outdoor projects today: putting together a wooden bench-swing that Janelle wanted. With the help of Connor, and some mild assistance from Rowen, we managed to get it put together in a little under three hours--I've been feeling a bit stiff since then. The process was quite dusty as we were putting it together in the not-yet-recovered lawn by the fire pit, so the bench-swing has a light coat of dirt on it.
Hopefully, the rain will clean that off too.
