Hopefully, I'll be able to transplant my plans into tomorrow. We have four trees that the power company took down, but did not remove, that need to be cleaned up. My goal is to cut up one of them and roll its pieces across the area that had been landscaped due to the septic system replacement. I want to smooth out the area as much as we can.
At that point, I want to set up our fire pit again. This will mean laying down the landscaping fabric and moving the gravel back. At least we don't need to dig down this time as the sod has already been removed.
Once that's done, I want to spread grass seed on the rest of the landscaped area. I'm hoping that we still have enough time for those seeds to take root and perhaps give us an even better lawn than the one we had before. Last time, we didn't spread any seed and most of the area was taken over by clover (which I liked), dandelions (which I've learned to tolerate), and horsetail (which I don't care for). I don't really care about having a "perfect" lawn, so we'll just see what happens.
We will see if the weather and our cabin guests (as the area in question is near the cabin, I don't want to work on the area if they stay during the day) cooperate with my plans.
